For private clients, Total Training offers training in two fields, Mind & Body.
Mind (English, Swedish, Chinese, academic writing, and tutoring) and
Body (see below the Testimonials – Mind on this page).
Clients of all ages are welcome.
Mind
For adults, the objective is usually either mastery of general English or situational English training such as travel and insurance sales. Additionally, we have helped individual clients reach objectives related to test preparation, academic writing, and producing/delivering presentations.
For children, classes should build on and reinforce school work with an emphasis on general structure to build strong foundations to facilitate movement towards fluency in both speaking and writing.

Nils is the kind of teacher that not only teaches you facts, but encourages you to think outside the box and sometimes even challenge what we are learning. Rather than saying “here are the facts, remember them and prepare for the exam,” he’d take more of “so based on this information what do you think? do you agree? do you disagree? What would you do?” approach. I remember leaving some of his classes feeling angry, but in a good way, because my classmates and I would have such intense and passionate conversations about the topics we were covering. A good teacher gives knowledge, a great teacher increases your wisdom (knowledge applied). Nils increased my wisdom on our subject.
Body
As a licensed Physical Therapist (Sweden), certified Personal Trainer (Scandinavian Academy of Fitness Education, S.A.F.E.), 6th dan Master Instructor and former World Champion (2000) of Songahm Taekwondo, and long-time sports coach (volleyball, tennis, and basic swimming), our trainer and health consultant can offer assistance with everything from injury recovery to personal training to self-defense instruction to advice on diet and weight loss.
Past services include helping adult clients overcome painful injuries (sciatica, back pain, and hip pain) and providing regular training sessions for expat business-people and their families.

When I first met Nils, I had had severe sciatica for more than six months and was unable to walk more than 5 minutes without stopping to rest. My injury occurred due to lifting heavy weights while dead lifting. The pain I felt the night of the injury was by far the most pain I have ever felt. My life had been reduced to staying at home and in bed for most of the time in spite of visiting several doctors and physiotherapists for help. Even praying was problematic as the pain was nearly constant and any kind of movement aggravated it.
After examining me, Nils told me of his own recovery from a sequestered lumbar hernia and helped me by explaining the mechanics of the back and the road to recovery before gradually strengthening my core muscles and helping be achieve a better posture. In all, we only met around 10 times, but I worked from a training program and he followed up regularly to check on my progress. Even after he stopped seeing me, he helped me adjust to weight training by e-mail, giving detailed instructions and making sure I did not re-injure myself. After several months of pain, it took only a few weeks before I was walking again, training daily according to the program and using auto traction regularly. A better understanding of my back really went a long way in helping me recover. Understanding what is wrong with your body and approaching with techniques that Nils had suggested really helped. With a better understanding of what was wrong, how I could progress, and the training program, my pain decreased and I felt more at ease doing things I would never have tried before.
Today, I run long distances without pain and play basketball with my friends. It is safe to say that my quality of life has improved dramatically and that I now have the understanding to take care of my back going forwards.

I am 60 years old and I have been training with Nils 2-3 times per week for the last 3 years. I am amazed about how each session feels different and rich in new learning! This is because Nils possesses a broad mastery in martial arts, self-defense, fitness, physiotherapy, nutrition and he uses his expertise as a toolbox to tailor his teaching to one’s individual objectives.
Personally, I appreciate the fact that he frequently asks for feedback and adapts each of his classes to my preferences and energy level. Nils’ training allow me to de-stress, refocus and re-energize myself for my next challenges of the day (business, family & daily life in Bangkok…) and I am thankful for his great help in making me feel younger and fitter!
